From October 30th to November 1st 2015 at “The Lakes” golf course at the Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort complex
Punta Cana, August 28th 2015. Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort wishes to replicate the success of the third edition of this iniciative, and invites all golf lovers to the IV International Golf Tournament The Lakes*, that will be held at this impressive golf course on October 30th, 31st and November 1st. Enrolled competitors will be entered into the raffle of a KIA PICANTO 2015.
The tournament program will be organized based on three rounds (one practice and two tournament), with prizes for the three winners in each category, 3 for gentlemen and one for ladies, as well as prizes for the closest to the pin, the longest drive and the straightest drive.
However, not only the winners will leave the tournament with a prize in their hands, as all competitors that manage to hole the ball on selected holes could take away: a JEEP KIA SPORTAGE 2015 or a VILLAGER 4 Golf cart.

A professional golf course by design
The IV International Golf Tournament ‘The Lakes’, is another example that demonstrates that for this pioneering establishment in Bávaro Beach, golf is not just another activity. This is the first golf course that was built in the Bávaro and Punta Cana area more than 20 years ago. Redesigned in 2010 by the renowned architect P.B. Dye, the golf course crosses a dense mangrove forest, with 25 lakes that surround and protect it and 122 perfectly positioned bunkers.

Punta Cana, 05 de Junio, 2012 - Con un retador campo en perfectas condiciones concluyó el
domingo 03 de Junio el Primer Torneo Internacional The Lakes Barceló Golf club en las
instalaciones del Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort.
Los jugadores de diferentes nacionalidades y de todo el país, jugaron en dos categorías mixtas,
disfrutaron de tres días intensos de golf y diferentes actividades para los participantes y sus
familias que en su gran mayoría estuvieron hospedadas en el recién remodelado Barceló Bávaro
Palace Deluxe.
El viernes comenzó con una roda de práctica seguida de un cóctel de bienvenida donde todos los
participantes compartieron y tuvieron la oportunidad de tirarse fotos y pedir autógrafos a las
porristas del equipo de futbol americano de la NFL, los Delfines de Miami, que amenizaron la
velada.
Muy temprano en la mañana del sábado inició la primera ronda del torneo donde los 72
participantes recorrieron los 18 hoyos encontrando diferentes amenidades, bebidas, alimentos y
regalos de todos los patrocinadores, entre ellos: Ameropa Golf, Empresas Dominicanas con sus
marcas Fiat y Alfa Romeo, Claro, Seguros Constitución, IMCA con su marca John Deere,
Caribbean Turf, Cerveza Presidente, Ron Barceló, BM Cargo, Golf Citee, las revistas Tiempo de
golf y Golfistas Dominicanos, agua Alaska, Oakley, Villas Marina, Turf Professional, Café Borbone,
Go Golf, Cigarros La Hamaca, Avianca Taca y Cocacola.
En la mañana del domingo, en el Hoyo # 12 el jugador Ramón Polanco, consiguió un hoyo en uno
en el cual ganó una estancia en el Hotel Barceló Palace DeLuxe y un jacket de Zero Restriction.
El hoyo #9 donde se encontraba un Automóvil Alfa Romeo al hoyo en uno y el Hoyo #14 que
contaba con un carro de golf Club Car, tuvieron varios tiros que pasaron muy cerca pero sin suerte
alguna. Después de muchos cambios de posiciones el torneo llegó a su fin y en la noche se
realizó una cena de premiación en el Restaurante de Mariscos El Coral, en las instalaciones del
Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe.
Se hicieron a la vez 30 rifas entre las que había, televisores, teléfonos celulares, cajas de puros,
maquinas de expreso y cortar grama, estancias en diferentes hoteles de la cadena Barceló, más
dos boletos aéreos de TACA.
El premio mayor y más esperado fue la rifa de un automóvil Fiat Panda 2012 cero kilómetros,
patrocinado por Empresas Dominicanas con su marca Fiat y The Lakes Barceló Golf Course y su
ganador fue el golfista Rafael Villalona (Villa) a quien se le entregó las llaves del automóvil de
manos del Director de golf de The Lakes, el Sr. Sergio Poo.
Después del éxito de este torneo y la satisfacción de todos los jugadores la dirección espera seguir
preparando torneos a nivel nacional e internacional.
